Currently cell phone manufacturers everywhere are going 4G crazy. Forget 3G, that is just so last year. Verizon is the latest cell phone manufacturer to jump on the 4G bandwagon. The company recently announced that they have finished their initial tests for their 4G wireless service. This service will offer speeds which are anywhere between five times to ten times faster than the current, existing networks. It is expected that the network will roll out next year in 2010.
Verizon will be using Long Term Evolution, or LTE, which is a new technology. Using it, the manufacturer succeeded in making calls in both Seattle and Boston. They will be the first cities who offer these faster services.
These calls used a spectrum once assigned to television stations which has recently been freed for use by cell phones — the 700 MHz spectrum.
It is expected that the download speeds for the new network will range from seven to twelve Mbps.
All of the United States are expected to be able to use the new 4G network by 2013.

It is finally the announcement that we have all been waiting for – T-Mobile is finally coming out with the HTC Touch Pro2 on August 12th, this year. This phone is not only one of the coolest looking phones but it also has some pretty cool specs that we are going to talk about below. One thing that is most noticeable about this particular phone though is going to be the touchscreen as well as the keyboard slide out – which to me is very, very important.
The rest of the specs go like this: 3.2-megapixel camera, AWS 3G, GPS, a 3.6-inch WVGA display, and WiFi. The phone also boasts the unique Straight Talk technology that delivers an integrated email, voice and speakerphone experience. Another cool thing that this phone is useful for is using it as a conference call phone – and you can check your e-mail at the same time!
The HTC Touch Pro2 is definitely one phone that everyone should check into getting – it is stylish, chic and fashionable … and totally awesome!

Is one smartphone company that seems to be doing very well for themselves, it is HTC. Now, it seems to me that they make luxury cell phones for people that are looking to get a little more out of their cell phone – however, that might not always be the case. The HTC Leo is actually in the works right now and this clamshell phone is actually one cool and technology-packed piece of equipment.
It is rumored to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an internal WVGA display that is going to be about 480×800 with a 16:9 ratio. HTC the company is also rumored to release some other phones, however I do not think that they are going to compare exactly to this particular phone.
Now, I must tell you – the picture, is actually an old HTC Omni mockup, however it should be quite similar to what the HTC Leo looks like … I hope anyway!

If there is one thing that I know about cell phones, it is going to be the fact that cell phones are by far some of the most popular electronics on the market today. Another thing is that cell phones are jam-packed with technology … take the latest and greatest phone from LG, the Next Generation LG Chocolate. This particular phone just got approved by the FCC and it is actually the second generation from the original LG chocolate.
Personally, I have never owned an LG chocolate phone but I know that they have got to be good if they are coming out with the Next Generation LG Chocolate. This beautiful phone is going to be packed with 800 x 345 resolution display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, a Flash-based 3D UI, multitouch, AGPS, WiFi, 7.2Mbps not to mention a scratch-resistant glass screen!
The Next Generation LG Chocolate is going to be one phone that everyone in the world is going to want … so make sure that you pre-order yours!

Virgin Mobile is extremely well known for creating solid entry level phones which are simple but functional, especially for those who are inexperienced with cell phones and/or who cannot afford to spend a lot of money on a phone.
So, what’s the damage? Well, on the upside, the phone has the standard, necessary features most people want out of a cell — it has Bluetooth connectivity, a speakerphone, and the option of voice dialing. The downside is that the quality of the speakerphone isn’t that great, and the feel of the phone sort of reflects its price. It has no camera, but its display is quite colorful. Still, it does not quite deserve to be called a “Flare,” since it really does not have any flair.

When I think about a cell phone I most of the time think about the battery. To be honest, I talk on the phone a lot and I need a battery that is going to last quite a while – that is why I picked the Philips Xenium X630. This incredible candy bar phone is one of the only phones that has a super, super, super long lasting battery inside of it. You can talk about to 12 hours without needing to recharge your phone or if you do not talk on your phone and it is just on standby, it can last up to 50 days.
Although the battery is pretty cool, there is another reason why you should invest in this phone … the specs! Some of the specs for the Philips Xenium X630 include: 2.4-inch QVGA display with 262k colors, a 3.2MP camera, a music player, an FM radio, a microSDHC card slot (up to 8GB) and Bluetooth with A2DP.
No word on the pricing or availability yet, but there should be some soon – hopefully!

Currently, the RIM Blackberry Tour is one of the hottest phones on the market. It was released for Verizon Wireless and Sprint and as a 3G smart phone, it delivers what it promises. You can “tour” by making calls all throughout the world. What does it support? EV-DO Rev, of course — at high speeds. You can email, send IMs, SMS, MMS, and do all kinds of social networking. Naturally, of course, GPS is built right into the phone, which has a full QWERTY keyboard. The display is all about high resolution, the phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera, it supports video recording, has a media player to play videos, and of course users can enjoy the latest and best Bluetooth, music, and pictures.
So, guess what we will soon be seeing all over Hollywood? Blackberry is definitely giving the iPhone a serious run for its money!

It has to be said that the coolest and I mean the absolute coolest cell phone that was just announced is the Samsung Louvre B7610. This beautiful, incredible and all around perfect phone is absolutely great looking and this is the very first, official photo of it! However, I not only have the official photo, but I also have some of the specs for this phone so you can decide if you really want it or not!
First and foremost, you should know that this phone is obviously a slider, but what you might not know is that it is a slider that is super, super thin! It also has 3.5-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, a 5MP camera with image stabilization, an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, an FM radio with RDS, a 1GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity, a 1500 mAh battery and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, which are all freakin’ fantastic!
The pricing is between two hundred and five hundred and honestly, it is supposed to be released in France in July … hopefully later this year in the US!

Now that we have talked about quite a few different phones, I think that we need to touch base on the Samsung ‘Yuna’s Haptic’. This incredible phone is by far one of the best phones in South Korea! While it is not available in the US yet, this phone is absolutely beautiful and is actually named after the figure skater Yuna Kim. The cool thing about this phone besides all of the technology that is packed into it is the fact that you can get it in all sorts of different colors!
Whether you want it in snow white, sweet pink or noble black, this Samsung phone has all sorts of features on it, including a ‘My Diary’ option, a 3MP short with auto-focus capabilities, T-DMB, SOS functionality and many, many more features!
While this phone is only available in Korea, you can get it offline if you wanted for just $481.00!

The Blackberry is increasing in popularity to such an extent that it is becoming a very real rival for the ever so coveted iPhone. However, in the Blackberry’s haste to become better than the iPhone, they may have finally crossed a line. There comes a time when even cell phone manufacturers have to cave into that dear old adage that if it ain’t broken, maybe you shouldn’t attempt to fix it just yet.
I’m not saying that the RIM Blackberry Bold 9000 isn’t spiffy — I mean, it’s a Blackberry, it’s almost a given. But the majority of consumer opinions and reviews available about this phone are disappointingly tepid.
By and large, it gets a completely average overall score. If this Blackberry was given a report card, it would receive straight Bs, some of them on the low side and some of them solid.
Its design is unquestionably sleek, its display is unquestionably sharp, and since it’s a 3G, it connects at high speed, but … those are about the only features which speak well for it.
For example, users do not appreciate the phone’s call quality. They aren’t fond of the quality of the camera’s pictures either. In fact, there are enough cons associated with this phone that people are beginning to feel its good qualities are not enough to justify the price. If you sign on with a two year contract from AT&T, you can get the phone for $300. If you don’t have a contract, it’s more than double that price: a whopping $680.
